April 18 tax filing deadline for most

-The filing deadline to submit 2022 tax returns or an extension to file and pay tax owed is Tuesday, April 18, 2023, for most taxpayers. April 18, 2023, is tax day, the federal deadline for filing a 2022 federal income tax return. This is also the last day to request a six-month tax extension using Form 4868. The IRS began to accept and process tax returns on Jan. 23, 2023. Visit the irs.gov website for more information

-Fund your IRA and HSA: The 2022 IRA contribution deadline is Tuesday,  April 18, 2023 for a traditional or ROTH IRA and to a Health Savings Account (HSA). You can stash up to $6000 in an IRA for 2022 ($7000 for those 50 and older). The annual inflation-adjusted limit on HSA contributions for self-only coverage will be $3,850, up from $3,650 in 2022. The HSA contribution limit for family coverage will be $7,750, up from $7,300.
