What's Happening in October

World Teacher's Day
October 5th marks the 28th anniversary of World Teachers' Day, a global event launched by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1994.In 2022, the theme is:
“Teachers at the heart of education recovery”.
Our teachers are the center of education and help to inspire and guide our next generation on their paths. This day is dedicated to celebrating and showing appreciation for those teachers that have been a crucial part of our lives and the lives of our children.

National Walk To A Park Day
October 10th marks the day to get outside! Take some time today to enjoy nature by walking to a park near you. Parks and open spaces are essential to the mental and physical health to the members of our communities by providing a space to commune with nature, a place for our children to play, to meet and gather with friends, family and other community members. Parks also help offset the effects of climate change.
Get out and take in the park nearest you and become a supporter of parks and open spaces where you live.
