Your Financial Planner-October

2020 has been a wild ride but with the autumn upon us and days getting shorter, here are a few things to take care of before the end of the year.

  • Put you estate plan in order: Do you have beneficiaries listed for ALL of your retirement and financial accounts? If not, contact your Intelligent Investment Management advisor to help you fill out the proper paperwork to designate these persons that you wish to remember.
  • Tax return deadline: If you got an extension on filing and paying what's owed on your 2019 tax return, you have until October 15 to complete filing and making payment on taxes owed.
  • Fill out the FAFSA: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid for the 2021-22 school year should be released bu October 1. You'll have until June 30, 2021, to submit the form for federal aid. Note that some states and schools award monies on a first-come, first-served basis and may impose deadlines earlier than the federal one.
  • Go over your monthly statements from TD Ameritrade Institutional. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Intelligent Investment Management at (970) 403-1234.
