Your Financial Planner-July 2022
Your Financial Checklist
Midyear tax checkup: See whether you can take steps to lower your taxable income for 2022. One idea: Boost contributions to tax-advantaged accounts, such as a 401(k), IRA or health savings account (HSA).
- The maximum amount you can contribute to a Roth IRA for 2022 is $6,000 if you're younger than age 50. If you're age 50 and older, you can add an extra $1,000 per year in "catch-up" contributions, bringing the total contribution to $7,000. This remains unchanged from 2019.
Build or refresh your money skills: Add at least one good book on personal finance or investing to your summer reading list.
Review beneficiaries and estate planning docs to make sure they are correct. This includes wills, trusts, and advanced directives. Make corrections or changes as needed.
Talk to your Financial Advisor: Schedule a review meeting to go over your portfolio and discuss any changes or concerns you may have with them. Contact Your Advisor Here

July National Days to Celebrate

National French Fry Day
Who doesn't love French fries in any shape, form, cut and crinkle?
Who knew that there was a National Day dedicated to celebrating America's favorite greasy food?
On Wednesday, July 15th, we pay tribute to the food that so many crave and consume.
The expression “French Fried Potatoes” first occurs in print in English in the 1856 work Cookery for Maids of All Work by E. Warren.

National Hire a Vet Day
What better way to honor the men and women who served our country than by hiring them? Monday, July 25th has been designated as "Hire A Vet Day".
As service men and women return home, we must remember that they are highly skilled individuals that were trained while serving our country. Large and small businesses can benefit from hiring those that are no longer active military. Today is the day to consider filling open positions in your firm by hiring a qualified vet!
